Day 1 : Guwahati-Kaziranga | ||
You will be picked up at the airport/railway station and then drive to Kaziranga. Spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, its forests, wetlands and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants and the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses. On the way enjoy the scenery of beautiful nature. Overnight stay at Kaziranga. | ||
Day 2 : Kaziranga | ||
Early morning go for Elephant Safari the usual sightings at the park are of rhinos, elephants, deer, Asiatic buffaloes, Sambars, boars and a wide variety of birds, including migratory birds. Then after breakfast you can go for local sightseeing like orchid Garden visit and Tea Estate visit. Then in afternoon you can go for Jeep Safari. Overnight stay at Kaziranga. | ||
Day 3 : Kaziranga-Shillong | ||
Early morning after breakfast drive to Shillong, the capital of the state of Meghalaya and home to the Khasi tribe. Shillong has rightly earned the sobriquet of "Scotland of the East" owing to the rolling hills, beautiful scenery and climate. On the way you will visit the beautiful Umiam Lake, a major tourist attraction located just before entering Shillong. In evening go for a visit to Wards Lake where you can enjoy boating. You can also go for local market visit. Overnight stay at Shillong. | ||
Day 4 : Shillong | ||
Early morning after breakfast go for a local sightseeing, visit Don Bosco Monument which is a 7 storey monument where you can have a glimpse of culture and tradition of North-East, then you can go for a visit to cathedral Church which is the most beautiful church in town. Ward’s Lake where you can enjoy boating, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydri Park. In evening you are free to visit local market. Check-in the Hotel and rest of the day in leisure. | ||
Day 5 : Shillong-Cheerapunjee | ||
In the morning you will visit Shillong peak and get a bird's eye view of the entire city of Shillong and then go to Elephanta falls. Then drive to Cherrapunjee, the erstwhile rainiest place in the world. On the way, experience the beautiful rolling hills, the flora and the waterfalls, most importantly the Nohkalikai or Seven Sisters Falls, a seven segmented waterfall which falls from a height of over a 1000 ft, you can also some of the caves like Mawsmai Cave, Arwah Cave and night stay at Cherrapunjee | ||
Day 6 : Cheerapunjee-Dawki-Mawlynong-Shillong | ||
Drive from Cheerapunjee to Dawki and river Umgnot, with pictures of crystal clear waters popular in the social media. Here you can relax yourself take a leap and if you are a fish lover than you can taste the local flavor of fish at nearby food court. Then drive to Mawylynnong, a picturesque village located in East Khasi Hills along the India-Bangladesh border. Declared as the cleanest village in Asia by Discover India magazine in 2003, the modestly existing Mawylynnong has alternatively been known as 'God's own garden' too. Go for a short trek of the village and see the Khasi way of life and meet the locals. You can visit Balancing Rock, Sky Walk, Bangladesh View point and the longest Living Root bridge. Day 7 : Shillong | ||
Early morning after breakfast go for a visit to Laitlum Canyon, famous for its view. Where the name itself means “End of Hills” Then visit Smit Valley, here you can experience the beauty and purity of Meghalaya. Then visit Mawphlang Secrad Forest which is the biggest sacred groves in Meghalaya preserved and protected by local communities. Evening free for local market visit. Overnight stay at Shillong. | ||
Day 8 : Shillong-Guwahati Depart | ||
Early morning after breakfast drive to Guwahati and visit Maa Kamkhya Temple which is located at the top of Nilachal Hills from where you can have an eagle eye view of the whole city. Then you can go for Umananda Temple which is located at the smallest River Island of Asia. Then drive to Guwahati Airport for your onward journey home. |
